PieAX FAQ

01  What is PieAX?

PieAX is a startup Analytics Experience Company built by industry data and analytics veterans, operating under PieCart LLC. Our first product, the PieAX Platform, is an Analytics Adoption Platform. It helps organizations understand how colleagues engage with analytics, make useful analytics easier to discover, and identify opportunities to improve adoption and value.

02  What problem does the PieAX Platform solve?

Organizations invest heavily in analytics, yet leaders often struggle to see what colleagues use, what goes untouched, and where support could make a difference. Every overlooked App or disengaged team represents an opportunity to put that investment to work. The PieAX Platform makes adoption visible and helps colleagues discover analytics relevant to their work.

03  Who is the PieAX Platform built for?

The platform serves inquisitive C-suite executives, business and team leaders, and data and analytics leaders responsible for the value of analytics investments. It also serves colleagues as analytics consumers, helping them discover useful Apps and build a more personal Analytics Experience. Admins manage the environment and its content.

04  Does the PieAX Platform replace our existing analytics tools?

The PieAX Platform is SaaS software that works alongside existing analytics tools. Organizations continue using their tools to create and deliver dashboards, reports, datasets, and AI experiences. PieAX adds an experience focused on understanding adoption, improving discovery, and helping leaders prioritize practical next steps.

05  We already have usage reports. Why would we need PieAX?

Usage reports show activity within a particular environment. The PieAX Platform connects supported usage sources with organizational context, adoption trends, curated discovery, and leadership views. Without that broader picture, declining engagement and valuable but overlooked Apps can remain hidden. PieAX helps leaders decide where to focus and colleagues find analytics that matter to their work.

06  What does the PieAX Platform include?

The platform combines MyAnalytics® for a personal starting point, Catalog for discovering Apps, MAX for executive and leadership insights, Usage360® for usage and adoption analysis, and Admin features for managing the environment, Apps, and colleague access. Organizations can begin with Usage360® and introduce additional capabilities at a practical pace. The starting scope is agreed during onboarding.

The Analytics Experience

07  What is the Analytics Catalog?

The Analytics Catalog brings an organization's analytics into one curated portfolio, helping colleagues discover what is available and find Apps relevant to their work. An App is a dashboard, report, dataset, or AI experience created or delivered through tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, or an AI platform. Valuable analytics can remain underused simply because colleagues do not know they exist.

08  What is MyAnalytics®?

MyAnalytics® gives colleagues a personal starting point for analytics. They can save useful Apps from the Analytics Catalog and return to them from one place. It helps turn a broad collection of analytics into a selection that fits each colleague's work.

09  What is MAX?

MAX gives executives and leaders a view of analytics engagement, its potential value, and patterns that may help explain changes in usage. It brings adoption insights into leadership conversations about where to focus support, improve discovery, or review the analytics portfolio. Usage patterns inform those discussions; they do not establish business causation.

10  What are AX and the AX Score?

AX means Analytics Experience: how colleagues engage with analytics and the value that engagement may create. The Analytics Experience Score® - or AX Score - summarizes engagement on a scale of 0-100 using recency, frequency, and breadth of use. Its trends help leaders identify where further attention may be useful.

11  What is AX Value? Is it the same as ROI?

AX Value is a modeled estimate of the potential economic value associated with analytics use, based on usage data and agreed valuation assumptions. It provides a basis for discussing value and opportunity. It is not booked savings, audited financial results, or proof that usage alone caused a business outcome.

12  Does the platform support both BI and AI adoption?

The platform's initial focus is Business Intelligence adoption, with an expanding vision for AI usage and adoption. AI coverage depends on the sources and activity data available for a particular engagement. Supported capabilities are confirmed during discovery so the starting scope matches the organization's environment.

Starting with Adoption

13  What is Usage360®, and can we start there?

Usage360® provides five sheets for exploring analytics usage and adoption, fully embedded within the PieAX Platform. It examines activity by colleague, team, tool, and App across supported sources, revealing engagement patterns, declining use, and dormant content. Organizations can start here to identify adoption opportunities before introducing additional capabilities.

14  What information is needed to get started?

An initial assessment typically uses analytics activity records, an inventory of dashboards or reports, and organizational context such as colleague roles and teams. The exact inputs depend on the agreed scope and available sources. Discovery establishes what can be measured reliably before onboarding begins.

15  Does PieAX need access to sensitive business data?

An adoption assessment can begin with usage metadata and anonymized colleague identifiers, without collecting the underlying customer or transaction data shown inside reports. Data requirements, identity handling, permissions, and access arrangements are agreed for each engagement. Any additional AI or content-related access is scoped separately.

16  How much effort does implementation require?

Implementation effort depends on data availability, the number of sources, and the capabilities being introduced. A focused starting scope helps keep onboarding manageable. PieAX works with the organization to define responsibilities, required inputs, refresh arrangements, and an achievable timeline before work begins.

17  How is PieAX priced?

Pricing reflects the scope of the engagement, including supported sources, the colleague population, refresh needs, support, and any additional integration or AI requirements. A proposal defines the included capabilities and services. Contact PieAX to discuss a starting scope that fits the organization's priorities.

18  How can we get started?

Request a demonstration or an introductory conversation to discuss the analytics environment, leadership's adoption questions, and a suitable starting scope. An assessment or pilot may be an appropriate first step. Making adoption visible sooner helps leaders identify overlooked Apps, support colleagues, and prioritize opportunities to improve the Analytics Experience.
